Midnight Milkyway

8mm, f3.5, 97 sec. ISO 1600

After waiting months and months to go and re-shoot a Milky Way shot I did last year. Last year when I went out I was late and missed the Milky Way where I wanted it to be, so this year I went way earlier. I also chose a different spot in between Coolidge, Arizona and Maricopa, AZ. I had driven around for about an hour until I found the right location, and was still an hour early! So I went and did a quick star trail shot which is below. 30 minutes or so of 30 second shots, layered in Photoshop using "Lighten" mode.

28mm, F2.8, 30 sec. ISO 3200

There was a ton of light pollution on the first shot which made it hard to really bring out the Milky Way. While I am happy with the turnout, I think third time will hopefully be the charm.
